Coyote Sightings on the Rise in Whitpain Township

Coyote Sightings on the Rise

The Whitpain Township has released a statement regarding the recent increase in coyote sightings over the past few weeks.

Though coyotes will typically run and hide from humans, they will attack smaller animals and domestic pets. Additionally, spring is the season in which female coyotes give birth, and they may act aggressively towards humans if they feel their pups are in danger.

The township is requesting that residents refrain from feeding their pets outdoors, and asks that if you happen to encounter a coyote that is standing its ground, simply walk the other direction and contact the police department at 610-279-9033.
